This was a final piece for my A2-Level art exam.
It is by far the biggest painting I have produced and I completed it within 9 hours (the exam deadline being 12hrs).
This water fountain is in such a relaxing, peaceful -and I find- secret area.
It is hidden away in an enclosed area of the Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds.
While most of the hustle and bustle is found around the play areas and ruins, this little gardened section is completely separate. Most times I have been there, there has been the occasional duck feeder but other than that, there is complete silence.
You can close your eyes and hear the noise and life in the distance, but most prominent is the relaxing sound of the fountains water splashing back into the pond.
I find this place bliss and so relaxing as you are rarely ever disturbed, the world almost stops and time is lost track of.
I find that by having a more free and expressive approach to my work that I can paint a lot quicker, allowing me to produce something on a larger scale which can make an impression and grab a passers attention.
